Only the dissertation presentation to go! Then the real world, although I am kind of in the real world at the moment! I've got all this extra time that I can get on with things that I've been meaning to do for ages in, it is great!
I'm going to be adding a new category to this blog, called photography, as I've decided that I'm treating myself to a Canon EOS 20D digital SLR. In the meantime I have been taking pictures on both my Sony Ericsson K800i Cybershot phone and my Dad's Nikon FM2, which is a fully manual film SLR, I should be getting the first roll of film I've used developed tomorrow so it is quite exciting!
I handed my dissertation in, so this weekend was meant to be really good, it hasn't all gone to plan though...
Friday I picked up the new exhaust for my car and get my hood looked at, all was good, great exhaust at a bargain price.
Then I got up early on Saturday to find somewhere to get it fitted, which is easier said that done on a Saturday, when I eventually found somewhere I made sure that they would cut the bumper for me, as the new exhaust has 2 exits, they agreed. When they started fitted it they tried to sell me another exhaust because they hadn't seen the one on the passenger seat, I should have left at that point...
They fitted the exhaust I had but refused to cut the bumper, so I was left with a poorly fitted exhaust which was damaging the bumper. I tried to find a body shop who would cut the bumper, but none were open, so ended up going to Argos to buy a dremmel-alike and do it myself. This proved pointless as the dremmel-alike was crap, the cutting bit didn't stay clamped in, so I went back to Argos to buy a proper Dremmel, which was much better and allowed me to make some cuts in the bumper, but without removing the exhaust again I can't get it perfect without risking damaging the exhaust, so after all that I'm going to have to find a bodyshop in the week who can tidy it up for me. At least I'm not driving around with a wonky bumper and exhaust anymore, just a wonky cut on the bumper and a bit of rubbage, so that is less chavlike. What is still chavlike is the exhast noise, I've been told that this particular exhaust takes a few hundred miles to bed in. I'll post some pictures of the exhaust when I've had the bumper sorted.
The pirateness comes from having seen someone with an eye patch, someone with a hook for a hand and then the guy who fitted my exhaust looked like a pirate too!
Well, this is the first post from my iBook, I'm getting the hang of the Mac OS X now, the only bit that confuses me sometimes is when I try to right click with the mouse, but I'm sure I'll get used to which of the button I'm meant to press and when! The other things that confuse me slightly are why there is two return keys, yet no delete of hash keys...
For a 500MHz machine it is pretty speedy, I can't wait to get a MacBook, although I'm probably going to wait until Leopard comes out in October to get one...
I'm going to get back to the uni work now, I'm planning on finishing two assignments and the design section of my dissertation before I go to work on Tuesday...
For the first time in a fair while I've gone for a whole day without driving my car, which isn't good on what has been such a lovely sunny day. I've been stuck inside at my computer doing uni work.
On the plus side I have just bought an iBook to start my exploration into the world of OS X!!!
I've just got back from a great cruise/thrash. I met my dad after work to go for a meal (I had a HUGE mixed grill), then I followed him home, me in the MX-5 and him in his Boxtser, both roof down of course. The roads were empty so we were able to have some fun, the power difference was noticable, especially on the uphill straights though.
